We now have Apple Music streaming from our echo speakers as we wanted. Then I went back to the alexa app and linked the account, and just like magic the link worked. This prompted for more clicking and approving, but eventually this worked and I was in and able to stream from a browser as well. For good measure I also tried logging into. I then clicked play to test it, and music came out. This kicked off something as there was a bunch of spinning before the radio window populated. I logged back into the local account on my laptop and opened iTunes. Searching the Internet did not help either, there are many, many posts of people having linking issues, but no fixes. Then I tried to link the account to the Alexa app, as detailed here – Linking Unsuccessful This was more work than I expected but I was able to create the account and log in on a new local account I created on our laptop. Being a bit more paranoid than the average human I created a new dedicated account for this and added it to our family plan. This sounded great so I set out to set it up. My neighbor told me that we can use Apple Music with our alexas so we can get a wider music library on our existing devices. We finally plunged into paying for streaming music and purchased the Apple One bundle as it seems like the best value for a family.
